Slurp is a short-form animated series created by Jenny Lê and Andrew Williams. It’s heartfelt, chaotic, and laugh-out-loud funny—set in a queer, Asian-American noodle shop where food is sacred, emotions simmer just below the surface, and everything tastes better with a little drama.
What started as a joke became an obsession.
At the center is Jenny, a petite but fiery Vietnamese-American chef whose broth—and emotional intensity—both take days to develop. She runs Slurp, a neighborhood noodle shop known for healing heartbreaks, inciting Yelp meltdowns, and serving presence in every bowl.
Her sidekick? Chubbs, a scruffy Pomchi who only talks to the audience—in the voice of your sassiest Vietnamese auntie. Chubbs is Jenny’s emotional translator, truth-teller, and the show’s spiritual chaos gremlin. In the kitchen, Andrew—a loyal, THC-prone white musician—keeps things (mostly) from burning down.
Across the street, a rival rises: Daisuke Udonaga, a samurai-styled Japanese restaurateur with great hair, a mysterious past, and major misunderstood-softboi energy. Jenny should hate him. But somehow, she just… doesn’t.
Each 3–5 minute episode blends food, queer friendship, kitchen disasters, emotional growth, and surreal dream sequences (many starring Chubbs). From one-star revenge dinners to accidental boba highs, Slurp is a spicy, soulful meditation on what it means to show up—hungry, healing, and still full of hope.
Think: The Bear meets BoJack Horseman meets Turning Red—but gayer, shorter, and with better soup.
